About 1,000 workers at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery joined the protest. Workers protest against salary delays : “The employment contract states that salaries must be paid from the 1st to the 15th day of the month. The total number of employees at the plant is 1300. On the 15th of the month, they paid the salaries of some employees. The rest are still waiting. For two days in a row, thousands of workers at the plant have been protesting”, refinery worker said.

Protesters informed the representatives of the State Oil Company :
They said it would be considered. Whereas at the plant, the officials first said that there was a delay, then said that there was a problem in the bank. They say it’s a construction project, there may be a delay. Thousand workers were not paid their salaries for March. We demand our salaries and compensation”.

According to official data, 21 out of 24 types of Azerbaijani oil are processed at the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, which in turn is used to produce 15 types of oil products, including gasoline, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, fuel oil, petroleum coke, etc. 45% of these products are exported to foreign countries.

More than 100 “Wolt” couriers did not go to work on April 21. They switched the company’s mobile application off, demanding a salary increase.
“Wolt” has fired many couriers for the one-day strike.
According to the organizers of the strike, when they demand a salary increase, the company threatens that there are hundreds of people who are waiting in line to find a workplace.

They break you psychologically and convince you that you don’t matter, you’re just a statistics, you’re one of hundreds of couriers. There are hundreds of you in unemployment line," the call said.

Couriers told that in recent months life has risen sharply, but salaries did not rise, on the contrary, “Wolt” had dared to decrease it.

At the end of their call for strike, workers share confidence of the power of being together : “Small snowflakes can create big snowballs”.
