No to the capital punishment in Iran !

Accueil > International (Engl) > Asia > No to the capital punishment in Iran !

Once again the deep hatred that the repressive Iranian regime has for its people received quite a bit of the world’s media attention. To control this boiling society, the Iranian regime has accelerated the execution machine and death sentences, in particular against demonstrators detained during the uprisings of January 2018 and November 2019.

Amir Hossein Moradi, winner of the silver medal of International Olympiad on Astronomy in 2017, Ali Younessi gold medalist of the World Astronomy Olympiad in China in 2018, and Navid Afkari, a very famous wrestler in his country, claims several championships, they are all awaiting in death corridor. They all are sentenced to death for having participated in the manifestation against the high cost of living of November 2019 in Iran. They are three famous figures among thousands unknown.

Amnesty International’s newest report, “Trampled Humanity,” once again denounce the Iranian regime :
• Widespread torture including beatings, floggings, electric shocks, stress positions, mock executions, waterboarding, sexual violence, forced administration of chemical substances, and deprivation of medical care
• Hundreds subjected to grossly unfair trials on baseless national security charges
• Death sentences issued based on torture-tainted “confessions”

In addition to official repressions, the Iranian regime is using the cronavirus epidemic to get rid of its political prisoners. Official documents obtained by Amnesty International reveal that the Iranian government has ignored repeated requests for additional resources made by senior prison officials in Iran to control the spread of COVID-19 and treat detainees achieved. For the regime for annihilating its political opponents and spreading terror in society, all means are good.

The member of the « International Labor Network of Solidarity and Struggles » reaffirm their support for the Iranian people and their solidarity with the workers of Iran :
-  Condemn the unbearable repression and harassment of the Iranian teachers, trade-unionists, labour and human rights activists and artists, Kurds and ordinary citizens ;
-  Demand the cancellation of all unjust convictions, contrary to fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as the immediate and unconditional release, during this Covid-19 pandemic, of all activists imprisoned for their union activities.
