Motion of repudiation to the Angolan dictatorship ! Immediate freedom for Luther Pereira !

Once again the Angolan dictatorship is attacking democratic freedoms and the workers’ right to organize and demonstrate. Killings and kidnappings of activists in Angola gained space again at the weekend. In Zaire province the police fired on young people demonstrating for better living conditions and fatally shot two of the young people. In Luanda, Domingos Luther Pereira was kidnapped last Thursday and to this day his whereabouts are unknown. According to his family, the young man was surprised by agents of the Criminal Investigation Services that so far have not informed about the motivations of the arbitrary detention.

The Third Division Movement will hold a vigil, on the 21st of this month (Tuesday), from 6 p.m., at the Mural of Citizenship, located in Mulemba Waxa Ngola, Sambizanga district, in solidarity with the victims of abuse of authority by the National Police, in repudiation to the arbitrary detention of activist Luther Campos and the repression of demonstrations held in the provinces of Uige and Zaire.

The International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggles is in solidarity with the Angolan workers in their struggle for democracy and freedom of expression, and repudiates the dictatorship that represses, persecutes and imprisons activists.
