Turkey : more trade unionists condemned

Accueil > International (Engl) > Europe > Turkey : more trade unionists condemned

A year ago, in May 2021, several leaders of the SES/KESK union (public health and social sector) were arrested by the Turkish authorities for a week. The trial decided and organized by the Turkish state was to take place these days. Under cover of “propaganda and belonging to a terrorist organization”, the Erdogan regime wants to silence all opposition ! The hearing was postponed until October 3, but the court still issued a warrant for the arrest of SES co-chair Selma Atabey. So she is incarcerated. The union’s former co-chair, Gönül Erden, has been in jail since September.

The member organizations of the International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggles demand the release of these two comrades and of all the trade unionists imprisoned by the power in place in Turkey. We demand the release of all political detainees.
